“A Spotlight on Compliance,” AIMA Global Policy & Regulatory Forum 2024

Partner Gabi Gillett will speak at the Alternative Investment Management Association’s 2024 forum, a premier event that gathers leading and next-generation investment managers, regulators, investors, and service providers from around the globe.

During his panel, Gabi will discuss how the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) recent regulatory activity could affect private funds and investment advisers. The panel will cover proposed amendments to the SEC’s custody rule, new rules on the use of predictive data analytics, and new definitions of “dealer” and “government securities dealer.” The conversation will touch upon compliance implications for the industry and whether the SEC’s own cost-benefit analysis is meaningful or accurate. Gabi will also share his insight on how firms and the industry can best position themselves to challenge proposals that are legally or factually deficient.

Gabi’s panel is at 9:10 am ET. The day-long event will be held in-person at Convene in New York.
