Partner Precious Jacobs-Perry to Receive 2021 Distinguished PILI Fellow Alumni Award
Recognition
November 29, 2021
Jenner & Block Partner Precious S. Jacobs-Perry has been selected to receive the Public Interest Law Initiative 2021 Distinguished Fellow Alumni Award. Founded in 1977, PILI is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “cultivate a lifelong commitment to public interest law and pro bono service within the Illinois legal community to expand the availability of legal services for people, families and communities in need.”
Ms. Jacobs-Perry’s involvement with PILI began in 2009 when she was a PILI Graduate Fellow at the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic. She now serves on GCLC’s Board of Directors and has a robust pro bono practice. Precious recently worked to create a pro bono partnership between Jenner & Block, a firm client, and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund to help obtain legal name changes for transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary people. She has also advocated for women’s rights through the #MeToo Movement by representing women who have been subjected to sexual harassment and assault in the workplace.
The award will be presented to Ms. Jacobs-Perry at PILI’s Annual Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Palmer House Hilton, an event that brings together the Illinois legal community to celebrate the very best aspects of the legal profession: the generosity, expertise and commitment of the countless lawyers, law students, legal professionals, law firms and corporations who dedicate themselves to providing legal assistance to those in need. This year’s event will be a hybrid event allowing both virtual and in-person participation.
