Precious Jacobs-Perry defends her clients against large breach of contract and consumer class actions in the technology, energy, food and beverage, and financial services industries. By helping clients understand the rapidly evolving litigation issues in their industry, Precious helps them prepare for changes ahead. Precious has handled every aspect of the litigation process in a variety of forums in major consumer class actions and complex commercial contract disputes between companies.
Precious maintains a robust pro bono practice and serves on Greater Chicago Legal Clinic’s Board of Directors. She worked with a team to create a pro bono partnership between Jenner & Block, a firm client, and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund to help obtain legal name changes for transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary people. She has also advocated for women’s rights through the #MeToo Movement by representing women who have been subjected to sexual harassment and assault in the workplace.

Representative Matters
- Won a complete jury verdict for Grammy Award-winning recording artist Chance the Rapper in a breach of contract dispute with his former manager, defeating claims for millions in alleged post-termination commissions and obtaining jury findings that the former manager breached his contractual and agency obligations by secretly negotiating personal benefits from third parties while purporting to act on the artist's behalf.
- Successfully defended against breach of contract, unjust enrichment and consumer fraud claims by obtaining a dismissal order with prejudice related to certain alleged “illegitimate” fees charged by defendants in a class action matter litigated in the Circuit Court of Kane County and one that was litigated in the Northern District of Illinois.
- Obtained favorable settlements for clients who were accused of violating the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
- Secured a favorable settlement for a client who filed a derivative shareholder action alleging breach of fiduciary duties, aiding and abetting breaches of fiduciary duties, breach of contract and tortious interference with a contract against the Board of Directors of a company it held a minority interest in, the company’s majority shareholders, and the company.
- Won a preliminary injunction and later permanent injunction on behalf of a client who filed a breach of contract action in the District Court of Oregon seeking to recover substantial inventory being wrongfully withheld by the defendants.
- Successfully defended against a multi-million-dollar breach of contract claim by obtaining a dismissal order with prejudice related to certain alleged unpaid fees in a matter litigated in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
- Successfully represented clients by obtaining summary judgment in their favor in connection with the breach of numerous franchisee and guaranty agreements, as well as a management agreement in a matter litigated in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
