“Is Deference Dead? Executive Branch Power Post-Chevron,” Energy Bar Association
Special Counsel Anand Viswanathan will moderate a panel at the Energy Bar Association’s 2024 Annual Meeting and Conference. He will guide a panel of top agency lawyers and academic experts as they explore the Supreme Court’s reconsideration of the Chevron doctrine, including how the Court’s decision could affect energy and environmental regulators and the regulated community.
The panelists include the general counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy, as well as members of the faculty of Harvard Law School and Georgetown Law.
Anand practiced for a decade at FERC, including roles as Legal Advisor to the Chairman, Appellate Counsel in the Office of General Counsel, and Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Enforcement. In private practice, he provides strategic guidance and represents clients both in court and before agencies like FERC.
