“Evolving Geopolitical Dynamics: The Impact on Internal and Government-Facing Investigations,” Global Investigation Review’s GIR Live: Women in Investigations
Jenner & Block’s London Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Investigations, Compliance, and Defense and Culture Risk and Sensitive Investigations practices Christine Braamskamp will speak at Global Investigation Review’s GIR Live: Women in Investigations annual meeting on June 19. The event will bring together in-house counsel, private practitioners, and senior enforcement officers to share practical insights on evolving geopolitical dynamics in relation to internal and government-facing investigations and corporate compliance.
Chris will participate in a panel titled “Evolving Geopolitical Dynamics: The Impact on Internal and Government-Facing Investigations.” She and her co-panelists will explore emerging country-level and global trends in corporate enforcement, how cross-border and cross-agency collaboration is shaping the investigative environment, whether there will be a rise in non-US led investigations, and the resulting implications for voluntary self-disclosure decision-making.
When reputational, legal, governance, enforcement, and shareholder issues collide, multinational corporations, senior executives and audit/risk committees seek out Christine to provide counsel on their most high priority legal challenges. Drawing on her diverse international experience, Christine partners with clients to guide them through a broad range of compliance, investigations, and white-collar matters. A Dutch-qualified lawyer and UK-qualified barrister, Christine brings a unique perspective to high-profile cross-border enforcement and compliance matters on a range of issues.
Christine is often hired to conduct comprehensive culture reviews to identify governance and legal risks and lead complex internal investigations across a range of alleged misconduct (such as bribery, financial crimes, toxic culture, and inappropriate behavior) to develop and improve compliance programs. Christine also defends clients through interactions with relevant authorities worldwide and drawing on extensive courtroom experience – oversees parallel civil litigation and criminal investigations. Additionally, when senior executives find themselves subject to criminal, regulatory, and internal investigations, they hire Christine to help them navigate the impact and find a path forward.
