Jenner & Block Recognized with 2025 Ally Luminary Award

On July 28, Jenner & Block was honored with the 2025 Ally Luminary Award from the National Bar Association’s LGBTQ Division. Partners Gail Morse and Howard Suskin  accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the National Bar Association’s centennial conference.

The Ally Luminary Awards were created to celebrate lawyers, judges, community stakeholders, and allies across the nation whose work has significantly contributed to improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ people of color.

Jenner & Block has a long and proud history of protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ communities, from the landmark Lawrence v. Texas case to fighting for medical care benefits for transgender state employees to challenging the “forced outing” provision of an Iowa law that requires the reporting of students asking to use a name or pronoun relating to gender identity. This advocacy took many forms in 2024. Learn more by exploring the 24th edition of the firm’s annual pro bono report The Heart of the Matter.
