The Q&A, Emily and Jo discussed potential increases in UK public inquiry work, how regulatory and cultural differences between the US and UK impact corporate DEI strategies, and more.

“The situation in the US is in flux right now—we’re in a period of significant change, particularly in how the federal government is interpreting case law. It remains a highly dynamic landscape, and I’d be interested in Jo’s perspective on how things compare on the UK side,” Emily said in the article.

"I do think it would be interesting to see whether the values that corporate organisations have upheld for so long will truly change as a result of the Trump administration's efforts, or if, in fact, there is a consistency in those values, but they're simply being presented in a different way,” Joanna said.

As founder of the Global Hearing Preparation Practice, Chair of the Congressional Investigations Practice and Co-Chair of our Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice, Emily leverages her deep government and crisis management experience to guide multinational companies and institutions through complex investigations, congressional inquiries, and public hearings, often during times of intense media scrutiny.

As a Co-Chair of Jenner & Block’s Investigations Department and chair of the London Public Law and Crisis Management Practice, Joanna brings a unique skill set and steady guidance to clients facing sensitive, high stakes matters.
