WASHINGTON – JANUARY 25, 2021– Jenner & Block is pleased to announce that Partner Emily Loeb has been appointed to the US Department of Justice as Associate Deputy Attorney General.

“Emily Loeb is a phenomenal lawyer with deep experience at the Justice Department,” said Tom Perrelli, chair of the firm who also co-chaired the Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice with Ms. Loeb. “We will miss her at Jenner but are thrilled for her new role and believe there is no one better suited to helping restore and continue the Department’s mission.”

Before joining the Office of the White House Counsel, Ms. Loeb served in several roles at the DOJ, including Senior Counselor and Acting Chief of Staff of the Civil Rights Division. During her time in the Civil Rights Division, Ms. Loeb directed the Division's response to congressional oversight and inspector general investigations and oversaw the Division’s legislative and policy initiatives.
