Jenner & Block Builds on Strength of Antitrust Practice with Return of Shaun Van Horn

Jenner & Block is pleased to announce that Shaun Van Horn, a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in intellectual property, antitrust, and complex commercial disputes, has returned to Jenner & Block as a Partner in its Chicago office. Shaun rejoins Jenner’s nationally recognized Business Litigation and Antitrust and Competition Law Practices, bringing with him a proven track record in antitrust, patent, and commercial litigation.

“Shaun's return represents a strategic expansion of our in-demand capabilities at a time when regulatory scrutiny and antitrust have reached unprecedented levels,” said Co-Managing Partners Ishan Bhabha and Randy Mehrberg. “His unique combination of antitrust and intellectual property knowledge and performance in a wide variety of litigation fully aligns with our focus on delivering exceptional results for clients facing complex regulatory challenges. We're excited to welcome Shaun back to the firm and look forward to the powerful synergies he'll create within our practice.”

In the antitrust space, Shaun has represented clients against price-fixing claims, secured dismissals of exclusive dealing allegations, and negotiated enforcement agency outcomes in cartels and merger transactions. His commercial disputes practice focuses on financial services matters involving hedge funds, private equity, and complex derivative instruments.

“Shaun's deep antitrust litigation experience comes at a critical time as our clients navigate an uptick in antitrust litigation,” said Co-Chairs of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Law Practice Doug Litvack and David Singer. “His track record defending clients against competition claims and securing regulatory approvals strengthens our growing team and enhances our ability to serve clients.”

Jenner’s Antitrust Practice continues to deliver significant wins for clients. This year, the firm has secured three major victories for Hyatt Hotels Corporation in federal antitrust class actions. These cases alleged that Hyatt violated antitrust laws by using the same benchmarking and revenue management systems used by other hotel brands, which purportedly led to artificially inflated hotel room rates.

“Things are going very right at Jenner,” said Shaun. “The firm's antitrust momentum is incredible, and I'm excited to return and help build out this specialty area at such a pivotal time. With regulatory enforcement at unprecedented levels, this is exactly where I want to focus my practice, alongside my work in commercial contract disputes and patent matters.”
