What’s Next for DEI: Unpacking the New Administration’s Executive Orders
Event
Thursday, January 30, 2025 | 9:00 – 10:00 am ET | Zoom Webinar
On his first two days in office, President Trump issued a series of executive orders about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). They seek to end DEI programs in both the federal workforce and the private sector, and they have far-reaching implications for companies with DEI commitments and initiatives. Collectively, they unwind federal policy dating back to the 1960s seeking to promote equal employment opportunity in the American workforce; direct aggressive and coordinated federal enforcement to target DEI programs in the private sector, especially at public companies, large non-profits and foundations, and major universities; and introduce added risk for federal contractors and federal grant recipients.
This one-hour webinar will unpack the executive orders and what they mean for your company. Members of the firm’s Organizational Values and Strategy Task Force, Government Controversies Practice, and Government Contracts Practice will explain the key provisions, how the government is expected to pursue them, and how you can protect your company in terms of legal, political, and reputational risk in this increasingly challenging climate for DEI.
Presenters:
- Ishan Bhabha, Co-Managing Partner; Co-Chair, Organizational Values and Strategy Task Force
- Lauren Hartz, Co-Chair, Organizational Values and Strategy Task Force
- Emily Loeb, Chair, Congressional Investigations; Co-Chair, Government Controversies
- David Robbins, Co-Chair, Government Contracts
