Session one, “Best Practices for Safeguarding Protectable Information,” will focus on employees, restrictive covenants, noncompete agreements, onboarding and offboarding best practices, and how to create a culture of respecting and protecting valuable company information. Speakers include Co-Chairs of Jenner & Block's Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants Practice Debbie Berman and Andrew Vail, along with  Jonathan Helton, Senior Counsel at Veradigm. The session will include an interactive discussion that will solicit input from the audience members. The panel will be moderated by Jenner & Block Associate Lauren Benigeri.

From Human Hands to Machine Minds – Rethinking Trade Secret Protection in the AI Era

Session two, “From Human Hands to Machine Minds – Rethinking Trade Secret Protection in the AI Era,” will be a fireside chat on the impact of AI on trade secrets with Tom Ferrone, Deputy General Counsel at Tempus AI, and Steve Holzen, Managing Director at Stout, moderated by Jenner & Block Partner Jason Bradford.  The speakers will address key concerns for businesses–including the risks of trade secret exfiltration through the use of large language models –and strategies for protecting proprietary information.

Session three, “Theft of Confidential Information – How to Prepare for and Then Manage an Exfiltration Crisis,” will explore how confidential information and trade secrets are typically stolen, and give practical guidance to prepare proactively for exfiltration events. Panelists include Shoba Pillay, Co-Chair of Jenner & Block's National Security and Crisis Practice; Anthony Ferrante, Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Security at FTI Consulting; and Kyle Hartman, Vice President, Corporate Litigation and Associate General Counsel at CNA Insurance.
