Chief Justice Roberts Appoints Partner Catherine Steege to Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules

Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. has appointed Partner Catherine Steege to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules. Cathy will serve a three-year term beginning October 1, 2026, on the committee that shapes and recommends changes to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure nationwide.
Cathy is Co-Chair of Jenner & Block's Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice, representing committees, debtors, contract counterparties, creditors, trustees, and examiners in complex chapter 11 cases and related litigation. She successfully argued Wellness International Network, Ltd. v. Sharif before the US Supreme Court and has argued more than 15 bankruptcy-related appeals in federal appellate courts nationwide.
The appointment adds to Cathy's record of leadership in the field: she is a designee to the National Bankruptcy Conference, which advises Congress on bankruptcy law and policy; and a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, where she chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
