Jenner & Block Lawyers Secure Disallowance of Claims against Firestar Diamond

A team of Jenner & Block lawyers secured a decision disallowing of millions of dollars in claims filed by several foreign banks against Firestar Diamond, Inc. Partners Richard Levin is the liquidating trustee for the Firestar Diamond Liquidating Trust, and he previously served as the chapter 11 trustee for Firestar Diamond and certain affiliates. The banks’ claims were the last disputed claims in Firestar Diamond’s chapter 11 cases, and the decision is an important step in bringing the cases to a conclusion.
Mr. Levin and Special Counsel Carl N. Wedoff led the team with essential support from Partner Angela M. Allen and Associate William A. Williams.
