Partner Karin Dryhurst to Speak at ABA In-House Counsel Session on Anti-Discrimination Laws
On July 14, Partner Karin Dryhurst will speak on a panel hosted by the American Bar Association Business Law Section’s In-House Counsel Committee titled "How to Handle Current Discrimination Risks Across Industries: What In-House Counsel Need to Know About the Evolving Landscape."
The panel will address federal and state anti-discrimination laws that prohibit unfair treatment, harassment, and retaliation in employment, housing, and consumer lending, among other domains. Karin will focus on the application of these laws in the credit and housing contexts.
The panel will explore emerging risks that in-house counsel must navigate related to discrimination generally and in the workplace, including the increased use of AI-driven tools, policy related to disparate impact liability, DEI-related claims and False Claims Act liability, and debanking.
