Maria graduated from Stanford Law School in the historical top 10 percent of the class. While at Stanford, she served as an executive board member for the Marion Rice Kirkwood Moot Court Competition and as a student lawyer in the Religious Liberty Clinic.

Prior to joining the firm, Maria clerked for the Honorable Cheryl Ann Krause of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
