Jenner & Block announced the elevation of 10 lawyers to the partnership and advancement of five lawyers to special counsel, effective January 1, 2026. 

The Tenth Circuit recently upheld an Oklahoma District Court’s summary judgment ruling in favor of a trade secret defendant based on insufficient specificity as to the trade secrets at issue, as well as a lack of proper secrecy over those alleged trade secrets. The case, styled as Double Eagle Alloys, Inc. v. Hooper, included claims under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), Oklahoma Uniform Trade Secrets Act (OUTSA), common law misappropriation, and civil conspiracy.

Singapore-based XP Power has been ordered to pay $17 million in attorneys’ fees to opponent Comet Technologies, USA, following Comet’s victory at trial. The Northern District of California issued the order in January 2025, and it follows a jury award to Comet of $40 million in unjust enrichment damages.

An Illinois federal jury awarded clients Kraft Heinz Co., Kellogg Co., General Mills Inc., and Nestle USA Inc. $17.7 million for the damages they suffered from the overcharges they paid due to a conspiracy to inflate the prices of eggs by the nation’s largest egg producers and two industry groups. The plaintiffs are entitled to have the $17.7 million trebled. 

After a five-week trial, a federal jury in Illinois found that two of the largest egg producers in the nation, Cal-Maine Food and Rose Acre Farms, and two egg trade groups, United Egg Producers and United States Egg Marketers, are liable for conspiring to inflate the prices of eggs from the late 1990s through at least 2008.
