Jenner & Block Announces 2026 Partner and Special Counsel Promotions
Jenner & Block announced the elevation of 10 lawyers to the partnership and advancement of five lawyers to special counsel, effective January 1, 2026.
On October 3, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit found that the delegation provisions of MobiLoans, LLC’s arbitration agreements are enforceable in a dispute with two borrowers. MobiLoans, LLC is owned and operated by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana.
The US Supreme Court today delivered a “complete victory” to our clients and affirmed the 2022 decision of the North Carolina Supreme Court in Moore v. Harper, a consolidation of three cases stemming from North Carolina’s redistricting process.

ACLU of Oklahoma Honors McGirt Team with Angie Debo Civil Libertarian Award
In the landmark McGirt v. Oklahoma case, the US Supreme Court last year ruled that the Muscogee (Creek) Nation’s federal reservation endures—which meant that the state lacked jurisdiction to prosecute our pro bono client.The New York Times called it “one of the most consequential legal victories for Native Americans in decades.”
Publications
On October 3, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court granted review in a federal grand jury proceeding that may result in the Court expanding the scope of the attorney-client privilege for dual-purpose business communications. Petitioner argues that the Court should adopt the test articulated in two decisions by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, which were authored by then Judge Brett Kavanagh.

"McGirt v. Oklahoma," Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians Winter Convention
On January 25, Associate Allison M. Tjemsland presented at the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians Winter Convention on McGirt v. Oklahoma, its implications for tribes outside Oklahoma, and “lessons learned” through the McGirt appeal. The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians is a nonprofit organization representing 57 Northwest tribal governments from Oregon, Idaho, Washington, southwest Alaska, Northern California, and Western Montana.
