Jenner & Block’s Native American Law Practice has once again earned a Nationwide Band 1 ranking for the Appellate category of the 2026 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business — reflecting the firm’s continued standing as one of the country’s foremost practices in Native American law.
“Tribal sovereignty and self-governance are central to the continued viability, prosperity, and advancement of tribal nations, and our team is consistently at the forefront of the most significant issues facing Indian Country,” said Native American Law Practice Co-Chairs Charles Galbraith and Keith Harper. “Our practice was built on a deep and abiding commitment to tribal sovereignty and autonomy, and we are honored that Chambers has recognized our work on behalf of tribal clients.”
Jenner Native American Law Practice is led by and primarily composed of enrolled members of federally recognized Indian tribes and has been called upon by tribal clients to represent them in the most important cases facing Indian country. From Tribal Courts to the US Supreme Court, Jenner has secured landmark victories on behalf of tribal clients, including prevailing in McGirt v. Oklahoma, successfully defending the constitutionality of the Indian Child Welfare Act in Brackeen v. Haaland, and ensuring tribes have the full benefits as Congress intended in Becerra v. Northern Arapaho Tribe. Jenner & Block helps Native American clients with a wide range of matters, including those concerning enforcement of treaty rights; land-into-trust; the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act; the Indian Child Welfare Act; oil and gas leasing; renewable energy development; governance and tribal sovereignty, self-governance and more.
