Jenner & Block Tops Pro Bono Rankings

Jenner & Block has maintained its top spot as the leader in pro bono service, earning the No. 1 ranking nationwide and internationally on The American Lawyer’s 2025 Pro Bono Scorecard. This recognition underscores the firm's commitment to our values, advancing justice and expanding access to legal services through our pro bono work.

In 2024, the firm averaged more than 180 pro bono hours per lawyer in the US, an increase from 167.7 hours the previous year. Accounting for mid-year arrivals and departures, 111% of lawyers contributed at least 20 hours of pro bono service, well beyond industry benchmarks.

Lawyers in Jenner’s London office averaged more than 100 pro bono hours, further emphasizing the firm's culture of service that transcends borders. This commitment reestablished Jenner as the top pro bono firm internationally.

“At Jenner & Block, our commitment to pro bono service is central to who we are as lawyers and people,” said Co-Managing Partners Ishan Bhabha and Randy Mehrberg. “Our firm has always been defined by fearless, client-centered advocacy. Whether we’re partnering with major organizations, nonprofits, and corporate partners to tackle community challenges, or helping individuals navigate legal systems and fight for justice, we bring the same passion, skill, and zealousness to every client matter – paying and pro bono.”

Further cementing its industry leadership, Jenner & Block also earned the No. 1 position on The American Lawyer’s Breadth of Commitment list, which ranks Am Law 200 firms by the percentage of their US-based lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work annually.

“Demand for pro bono services has been on an upswing for several years,” said Jenner & Block's Pro Bono Committee. “The firm gets requests for pro bono work every day, from nonprofit partners and from individuals who reach out to the firm. We’ve been all in.”
