Aaron addressed why emerging technologies, like AI, are contributing to growing geopolitical competition.

“[Emerging technologies are] driving a new breed of industrial policy,” Aaron said. “…Countries are competing with each other using an array of regulatory, legal, and policy tools to drive domestic industry to become the first leaders in any particular space…”

He also advised companies to adopt holistic security approaches beyond traditional cybersecurity.

“…View security risk not just from a cybersecurity perspective, but from a more holistic perspective,” he said, recommending companies to do tabletop exercises within a broader context.

Aaron is Co-Chair of Jenner & Block’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice and founding Co-Chair of the Critical and Emerging Technologies Practice. Leveraging his cross-sector experience from the highest levels of government and private practice, Aaron helps clients navigate the dynamic intersection of emerging technologies, geopolitical competition, and national security.
