Client Alert: Jenner & Block Releases New Treatise on Civil RICO Litigation

Litigation Department Co-Chair Reid J. Schar, together with E.K. McWilliams and Philip B. Sailer, have released an updated edition of A Guide to Civil RICO Litigation in Federal Courts, one of Jenner & Block’s Practice Series Guides. This 300-plus page publication is designed to assist lawyers, both in-house and in private practice, as they navigate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”) in civil cases. This fully revised and updated treatise seeks to demystify RICO by focusing on the elements common to all civil RICO claims and also delving into the specific issues that have most perplexed courts and practitioners over the years, reflected in courts’ historical failure to agree on how to interpret several key provisions of the broadly drafted RICO statute.

We would like to thank all of the current and former Jenner & Block attorneys and law clerks who made important contributions to the 2021 RICO Guide: Shanna Rifkin, David Sussman, Jason Bradford, Carla Weiss, Seth Agata, James Malysiak, Carissa Coze, Alexander Cottingham, Jeremy Ershow, William Von Hoene, Matthew Feldhaus, Amit Patel, Jing Xun Quek, William Williams, Eric Fleddermann, Theo Lesczynski, Deepthika Appuhamy, Emily Merrifield, Sara Crook, Rachel Foster, Margaret Hlousek, Brittany Lamb, Anna Margasinska, Adam Caldwell, Michael DeMar, Alexander Ghantous, Pejman Yousefzadeh, Garrett Fitzsimmons, Charles Carlin, Karolina Bartosik, and Jocelyn Sitton.
