Matt Feldhaus helps clients organize and navigate complex internal and government-initiated investigations. He takes ownership for deeply learning his clients’ relevant personnel, processes, resources, and risk so that the team’s fact-gathering and issue-spotting is thorough and efficient.
Matt’s experience spans a variety of industries and federal and state agencies, including the US Department of Justice, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the US Department of Defense. As a former competitive intelligence and product development manager for a telecommunications company, Matt attempts to learn the relevant processes and issues as well as his clients. Prior investigations have turned on complex engineering processes for alleged False Claims Act violations or fraud claims; contractual and payment processes central to alleged bribery claims; and financial processes relevant to fraud and corruption claims; among others.
Matt also advises clients in enforcing and protecting their trademark portfolios and in intellectual property litigation. His pro bono practice has included a variety of cases concerning medical standards of care, Medicaid, and health insurance and medical provider regulations. He received the Legal Council for Health Justice’s Ann Hilton Fischer Advocate Award for his work protecting people with chronic illnesses and disabilities, including removing barriers to treatment within Medicaid for those infected with Hepatitis C in Illinois.
