Christine Braamskamp Takes Leadership of Jenner & Block London Office

International law firm Jenner & Block is pleased to announce that Christine Braamskamp is the new Managing Partner of its London office. Christine took the reins from Partner Charlie Lightfoot who held the position for seven years.

“With confidence, vision, and judgment, Charlie developed Jenner & Block’s reputation in the London market, particularly in International Arbitration, Litigation, and Investigations, Compliance, and Defense,” said Co-Managing Partners Katya Jestin and Randy Mehrberg. “Christine is a natural leader who will seamlessly carry-on London’s successful trajectory, bringing a growth mindset and valuable experience to the role.”

Since joining Jenner in 2018, Christine has become an indispensable member of the partnership and respected leader within the firm and in the London office. She currently serves as a co-chair of the firm’s Investigations Department, the Investigations, Compliance, and Defense Practice, and co-founded the Culture Risk and Sensitive Investigations Practice. She also serves as a co-chair of the firm’s Positive Workplace Committee and is an elected member of Jenner & Block’s Policy Committee. Highly regarded in the London market, she has been instrumental in building client relationships and growing the firm’s reputation internationally.

“What sets Jenner & Block apart in the London market is its ethos: an unwavering commitment to excellence, collaboration across practices and borders, and service to its community,” said Christine. “Since 2015, the office has grown from a pair of lawyers to more than 20, established its reputation as a real player in the London legal market, and been recognized as the number one ranked firm for international pro bono service. Charlie charted a tremendous course, and we have an ambitious growth plan that I am excited to take forward in this next phase of expansion for the London office.”

Through targeted hires and internal promotions, the headcount of the London team nearly tripled during Charlie’s tenure. With more space needed to accommodate this growth, Charlie oversaw the London office’s move into new space at 10 Exchange Square, Broadgate in late 2022.

“Completing the office move was a major milestone in the office’s story.” Charlie said. “I am delighted that Christine is stepping in to lead and build on our success in London.”
