“Charting the Ship: Approaches to Cross-Jurisdictional Regulatory Divergence”The Lawyer General Counsel Strategy Summit
Christine Braamskamp and Joanna Ludlam hosted four roundtable sessions at The Lawyer's General Counsel Strategy Summit, which took place 13–15 May 2026 at the Meliá Villaitana Hotel, near Alicante, Spain. Jenner & Block was a sponsor of this year's Summit, themed around "the future GC."
Over two days, the event brought together senior in-house legal leaders to explore how the GC role continues to expand beyond legal and compliance, and how General Counsel can develop the skills, resilience, and strategic influence required to lead through uncertainty.
Joanna and Christine led roundtable discussions on geopolitical change and its related legal challenges, alongside broader programme topics including the impact of AI on legal talent and in-house teams, crisis management and complex risk, cross-jurisdictional regulatory divergence, and mental wellbeing and the expanding GC remit.
Christine Braamskamp co-leads the firm's Investigations, Compliance, and Defense team, as well as the firm's Culture Risk and Sensitive Investigations team. A former barrister, Christine leads highly complex criminal, reputational, and regulatory matters. Formerly called to the Bar in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, she brings her diverse and international civil and common law experience to a range of compliance, investigation, and white-collar defense matters.
As Chair of the London Public Law and Crisis Management Practice and Co-Chair of the firm's Global Crisis Management and Strategic Risk practice, Joanna brings a unique skill set and steady guidance to clients facing sensitive, high stakes matters. Joanna's strategic, level-headed approach offers clear direction in moments of intense public and legal pressure.
