Allison Douglis' practice focuses on content, media, and entertainment litigation and counseling involving copyright, trademark, advertising, and internet law. Allison works with clients at all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation analysis, dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal. She also frequently advises on non-litigation issues. In particular, she has a deep understanding of generative AI and counsels a wide range of clients on intellectual property considerations, internal use of AI, and the regulatory environment.
Allison also has extensive experience representing and advising educational institutions on complex issues and litigation involving state and federal law, including civil rights, First Amendment, and class action disputes. In addition, as a member of Jenner & Block’s Organizational Values and Strategy Task Force, Allison works to develop strategies for both educational institutions and corporate clients to protect their diversity initiatives.
Allison maintains an active pro bono practice which has included, among other things, advising a performing arts organization with respect to intellectual property issues and representing an artist in a copyright dispute. She is a member of the associate board of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and serves on the Copyright & Literary Property Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
