December 9, 2020
The Hollywood Reporter recognized Jenner & Block Partner Andrew H. Bart in its list of New York “Power Lawyers.” In a profile, the publication highlights Mr. Bart’s recent win for major record labels in a copyright battle with hip-hop streaming site Spinrilla. On November 30, a federal judge granted summary judgment, finding that Spinrilla is liable for infringing 4,082 works and is not entitled to safe harbor protection under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The profile also notes that Mr. Bart is preparing for trial on behalf of the labels in another file-sharing dispute in 2021. “Ultimately I view myself as a trial lawyer. When you get to a courtroom, there’s a different level of adrenaline, focus and excitement that makes the whole career make sense,” he tells THR.
