For the third consecutive year, Jenner & Block's Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Practice has achieved a Nationwide Band 1 ranking in the 2026 edition of Chambers USA. In addition, the partners in the practice group achieved individual rankings, including Michael McNamara as a "Star Individual," John Storino in Band 1, April Otterberg and Kirsten Hicks Spira in Band 2, while Katharine McLaughlin secured the ranking of Up and Coming.
“Law firms and lawyers increasingly find themselves navigating complex, high-stakes matters that demand deep expertise in professional responsibility and aggressive litigation when necessary,” said Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Co-Chairs Michael, John, Kirsten and April. “We’re proud to stand beside them as trusted counsel in their most serious and sensitive matters and deeply honored to receive this top ranking from Chambers for a second consecutive year.”
The firm has represented law firms and lawyers across the country seeking counseling or an aggressive defense in their most serious and sensitive matters. Drawing on decades of experience in the ethics and malpractice arena, we work strategically and discreetly to achieve the best resolution possible for our clients through early case and risk assessment, pre-litigation strategies, settlement negotiations, and litigation.
