Partner Meghan Greenfield Analyzes EPA Greenhouse Gas Rule Changes in E&E News, Reuters, and CBC

Partner Meghan Greenfield was quoted in two E&E News articles, “EPA seeks to limit its power to curb climate pollution,” and “EPA’s endangerment gambit could cause rules to spring back;” a Reuters article, “US reversal on key climate finding spells uncertainty for business;” and a CBC article, “Trump's EPA wants to reverse course on dangers of GHG emissions, disrupting industries, climate goals,” analyzing the EPA's proposed changes to greenhouse gas regulations under the Trump Administration.

The EPA announced plans to reconsider the endangerment finding that currently serves as the legal basis for federal greenhouse gas regulations across power generation, transportation, and industrial sectors.

Meghan provided insight into how these potential changes could affect regulated industries, stating, "Industries that have GHG standards set by EPA have long been complying with them and don’t want them to be stripped away. The stability of the regulatory regime is extremely important for industry as a baseline."
