Jenner & Block Launches Data Centers Group as Extension of Award-Winning Energy Practice
News
March 26, 2026
Jenner & Block has counseled clients across the energy, technology, and financial service industries as part of its cross-practice Data Centers capability, bringing together a team of lawyers specializing in transactions, regulation, state and federal policy, real estate, and environmental. The group underscores the firm's experience advising clients on more than $100 billion in data center power supply and infrastructure transactions.
The explosive growth of AI and data centers is reshaping the energy landscape in ways that affect utilities, technology companies, hyperscalers, power suppliers, ratepayers, and communities alike. Jenner's capabilities span the full lifecycle of a project — transaction structuring and commercial execution, innovative power solutions, regulatory navigation and rate design, strategic and policy counseling, as well as the real estate, environmental, and other specialist work that supports major infrastructure development.
The team includes a former FERC Commissioner, a senior FERC legal advisor, energy industry executives, and a deep bench of transactional and regulatory practitioners. Together, they’ve structured some of the largest and most innovative data center power arrangements in the US.
