Protecting Privilege: What In-House Counsel Need to Know

On the evening of Tuesday 28 April, Jenner & Block's London office hosted in-house lawyers from across the industry for Protecting Privilege: What In-House Counsel Need to Know. This is the first in a new series of training events designed for in-house legal teams.

The session covered the essential principles of English legal professional privilege and its application to in-house teams, with particular focus on the competing pressures that arise when working across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholder environments. Participants worked through multiple choice scenarios addressing the most common privilege dilemmas faced by in-house counsel, before receiving model answers and practical tools to help them handle complex privilege issues with confidence. The format generated lively discussion throughout the evening, with attendees drawing on their own experiences navigating privilege questions across different jurisdictions and organisations.

A special thank you to Partners Joanna Ludlam and Lucy Blake for leading such a thought-provoking and practical session, and to Special Counsel Will Jones for moderating the discussion. The evening concluded with a drinks reception, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with peers and continue the conversations from the training.
