Jenner & Block Associate Erica Turret will present at the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) Spring 2025 CLE Workshop on March 26. As higher education discrimination laws undergo significant changes, Erica will join leaders from Rice University and Syracuse University to explore the legal status of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives a program titled “Faculty and Staff: Walking Through This New World Together.”
Topics will include:
- Strategies for aligning internal stakeholders on whether and how to advance strategic and mission-orientated goals with respect to faculty and staff workforce composition
- Approaches for attracting, recruiting, and retaining the best talent
- Best practices around collecting and using demographic data
- Insight on navigating evolving and potentially conflicting federal and state directives as well as investigations and enforcement actions.
In addition to panel sessions, discussion groups will allow participants to exchange ideas, pose questions, and share experiences and solutions on important topics with colleagues in an informal setting.
