Mitchell L. Denti litigates patent cases and complex technology-centered disputes. He represents clients in fields spanning biotechnology, automotive systems, energy, media, and consumer electronics.

With a scientific background that makes him just as comfortable with source code as he is in a lab coat, Mitchell cuts through technical complexity, engages directly with expert witnesses, and zeroes in on the issues that actually drive the case. Beyond patent litigation, he handles complex commercial disputes that turn on the underlying technologies, including matters in the defense contracting and security software contexts.

Mitchell is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His pro bono practice includes representing a university in support of its degree-conferring program for incarcerated students, civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, and representing asylum seekers before the immigration courts.

Before law school, Mitchell developed novel organic semiconductors and electroluminescent materials for printable displays and photovoltaics as a research chemist at a flexible semiconductor company near Chicago. He is a named inventor on multiple patents and a coauthor of several peer-reviewed publications in the field. Mitchell earned his JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he served as an executive editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. He earned his BA in chemistry from Harvard University.
