When asked which of his Supreme Court arguments stand out, Adam discussed his work in Washington Department of Licensing v. Cougar Den, Inc.
“Very interesting case, very fascinating issues, great clients,” he said. “It was about the interpretation of a treaty signed in 1855. There was a provision saying that the tribal members had a right to travel, and the court had never before interpreted that provision. So you're really arguing from first principles. We had to really get into the historical aspects of it and also figure out the practical aspects of the case.”
