The National Law Journal Turns to Partner Emily Loeb for Insight on Trends in Congressional Investigations
News
June 26, 2023
The National Law Journal quotes Congressional Investigations Chair Emily Loeb in its analysis of recent congressional investigations, where lawyers such as herself are finding increased demand.
Emily observes that a comprehensive strategic approach is key during this period of intense congressional oversight of business activities that has been putting some entities in tough spots. She tells The NLJ: “It’s important to advise clients in a holistic way, not just based on the exigencies of the moment, in order to help clients achieve an outcome that, at worse, doesn’t hinder long-term interests, and, at best, helps their long-term interests.”
Finding ways to be a “good faith partner” in investigations is key to success, she says. “That often requires identifying and defining client interests [and] thinking about the arch of the investigation.”
Emily is also Co-Chair of Jenner & Block’s Government Controversies Practice, with robust experience guiding companies and institutions through investigations and congressional inquiries, often during times of intense media scrutiny.
