Jenner & Block Celebrates 2022 US Pro Bono Week
News
October 24, 2022
In honor of US Pro Bono Week, Jenner & Block will be celebrating the impactful work our lawyers do to help shape the lives of countless individuals. The pro bono matters being highlighted this week are a small fraction of the work we are doing every day. The next Heart of the Matter Report, coming in February 2023, will detail more of the significant and life-changing service from this year. Below, we shine a spotlight on some of the pro bono activities in each of our US offices.
Chicago: Our steadfast commitment to pro bono and public service began in Chicago. Today, our Chicago lawyers are among the city’s most dedicated providers of pro bono legal services, working on a wide range of cases, including prisoner civil rights, criminal defense, reproductive rights, and immigration and asylum matters.
Los Angeles: Our Los Angeles office makes an impact by advocating for vulnerable and marginalized populations in the greater Southern California region. From foster children to asylum seekers to immigrant detainees, our clients need access to justice that our teams provide.
New York: Lawyers in our New York office are dedicated to providing quality pro bono work that creates impactful change in the lives of people in New York and nationwide. This year our work included fighting for reproductive rights, disabled transit riders, the underrepresented in our legal system, and protecting First Amendment rights.
San Francisco: Lawyers in our San Francisco office have worked on numerous pro bono matters throughout the year that have made real and impactful change in the lives of many. Whether fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, supporting local non-profits, or helping asylum seekers from Afghanistan, our lawyers are committed to supporting those in need of help.
Washington, DC: Our DC office provides high impact pro bono work to underserved and marginalized communities through the representation of clients in high stakes voting rights and redistricting litigation, and in significant immigration and trafficking cases.
