“Telecom of the Future: Beyond POTS,” National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners

Jenner & Block Partner Luke C. Platzer shared his insights on topics including the types of services consumers want from their communications providers; whether traditional voice services are obsolete and, if so, whether a plan needs to be made for phasing them out; the types of consumer protections that will be required as we move from traditional voice to new broadband services; and whether some competition is enough to ensure consumer protection or whether some level of regulation is necessary. Mr. Platzer is a litigator in the firm’s Communications, Internet, and Technology Practice. He represents clients in litigation and regulatory matters before the FCC, state regulatory commissions, and the federal courts, principally in matters involving broadband and IP voice services.
