On April 12, Partner Wade A. Thomson moderated “The Nexus of Human Trafficking and Money Laundering” panel at the 2023 Anti-Money Laundering Summit hosted by the American Gaming Association. The panel, which was curated by Stephanie Brooker of Gibson Dunn, included Greg Brower, Chief Global Compliance Officer at Wynn, Deb Connors, Partner at Morrison Forester, and Tracy Raggs, Unit Chief at DHS Center for Countering Human Trafficking. They discussed behavioral indicators associated with traffickers at casinos/hotels and related money-laundering risks, and the critical role compliance professionals play in their organization’s anti-human trafficking strategy. Wade is a Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice and is a Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Gaming Committee.
