On April 23, Partner Mike Vernick will speak on a panel at the Department of Energy Contractor Attorneys Association (DOECAA) 2026 Spring Conference at the Fermilab and Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago.
The session, titled "Legal Ethics in a Dynamic Landscape," will explore two pressing ethics issues in the sponsored research space: the use of AI tools and their potential impact on the design and conduct of research projects, including related concerns around data security, research misconduct, authorship, and intellectual property, as well as the ethics and compliance issues that arise when faculty engage in entrepreneurial ventures and start-up companies.
