Jenner & Block and the Business and Human Rights Lawyers Association (BHRLA) are collaborating to present the BHRLA’s inaugural event in Chicago. This special evening is designed for lawyers who work at the intersection of business and human rights. Partner Rachel Alpert will moderate a conversation among a diverse group of practitioners from private practice, in-house, and academia. Speakers, including Jenner & Block Special Counsel Ali Alsarraf, will discuss their work in business and human rights and explore the trends and hot topics that affect corporate entities, international norm-setting, and society more broadly.

A networking reception will immediately follow the panel.

The event will be held at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office, 353 N. Clark Street, from 5:15 pm to 8:00 pm on September 27.

Rachel is a Co-Chair of the firm’s Human Rights and Global Strategy and National Security, Sanctions, and Export Controls practices. Rachel helps clients address US sanctions, export controls, and human rights risks and obligations.

Ali represents companies and individuals in their most complex and high-stakes disputes, and assists clients in navigating domestic and international forums and regulatory regimes in matters with significant human rights implications.

The BHRLA advances business and human rights leadership, learning, collaboration, and practice among commercial law firms and business lawyers around the world.
