Amicus Brief Urges SCOTUS to Reverse Decision that Rolls Back Access to Mifepristone

On January 30, a Jenner & Block team filed an amicus brief in the United States Supreme Court on behalf of 237 reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations asking the Court to reverse the Fifth Circuit decision that rolled back access to mifepristone.

The brief underscored the overwhelming consensus from the scientific and medical community that medication abortion is “one of the safest medication regimens in the United States and around the world,” and argued that restricting access to mifepristone will “imperil the health and safety of millions of people.”

“Far from protecting patient health, the Fifth Circuit’s decision will have severe and damaging consequences unsupported by law or science,” the brief concludes.

The Jenner team that wrote the brief included Partner Lindsay Harrison.
