Tyler Alfermann represents clients in products liability, environmental, and mass tort actions through all stages of litigation. His work includes defending companies from personal injury, medical monitoring, and property damage claims, as well as natural resource damage suits brought by state attorneys general.

Tyler’s recent experience includes managing nationwide PFAS litigation for a large chemical manufacturer, including hundreds of cases in state and federal courts across the country and thousands of cases in multi district litigation. Tyler provides critical knowledge and strategic guidance regarding practice before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and within the transferor MDL court, and clients praise his deep knowledge of their litigation and attentiveness to client needs.

Tyler’s mass tort and products liability background extends to trial and appellate work on asbestos matters, representation of multiple medical device manufacturers, and counseling clients on potential liability exposure for actions of current or former foreign subsidiaries. Tyler also has experience in consumer lending litigation in the Circuit Court of Cook County and the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, as well as successfully briefing and arguing two appeals before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
