Sara is an associate in Jenner & Block’s Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice.
Prior to joining the firm, Sara served as counsel in the Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs and, before that, as a Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division, where she led compliance monitoring of consent decrees and settlement agreements under Title VI, Title IX, and the Equal Educational Opportunities Act, and served as lead attorney on a Fair Housing Act case involving disability discrimination. She began her DOJ career as an Honors Attorney, advocating for the Civil Rights Division’s legislative priorities before Congress. Before joining DOJ, she worked in the US House of Representatives.
Sara received her JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the North Carolina Civil Rights Law Review. She earned her BA, cum laude, from Georgetown University.
