While in law school, Ryan served as an Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. His Comment, Recognizing Partial AI Authorship: Toward a More Permissive Copyright Regime, was published by the Wisconsin Law Review in November 2024. Ryan also served as a student attorney with the Legal Assistance to Incarcerated Persons (LAIP) clinic, where he assisted incarcerated individuals with parole advocacy and sentence adjustment.
