Priya Desai brings a cross-disciplinary legal practice spanning product liability, environmental law, and intellectual property. She advises clients in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, with particular focus on regulated and emerging environmental contaminants, as well as intellectual property disputes in litigation, arbitration, and prosecution.
Priya develops litigation strategy in technically complex matters and regularly partners with both fact and expert witnesses to build and present compelling cases.
Priya’s practice includes representing clients in disputes involving product liability and environmental contamination, often at the intersection of regulatory compliance and scientific uncertainty. She works with clients in highly regulated industries to navigate litigation involving chemical exposure, environmental remediation, and risk management related to new and evolving contaminants. As a registered patent attorney, she provides strategic counsel across the IP lifecycle from patent prosecution to enforcement and defense in contentious proceedings.
Before entering private practice, Priya was deeply engaged in public interest work. While earning her JD, she provided legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence through The John Marshall Law School’s Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. She also served as a PILI Intern with CARPLS, a Chicago-based legal aid organization, and returned after graduation as a PILI Graduate Fellow. Today, she remains active in the Chicago legal community, serving on the CARPLS Professionals Board and the Uptown People’s Law Center Board, and as an Alumni Class Representative for PILI. She is also an ambassador for All Chicago and a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago.
A skilled litigator and trusted advisor, Priya combines technical fluency with a commitment to client advocacy in high-stakes, multidimensional disputes.
