Leila Hooshyar received her JD from Berkeley Law in 2025, where she served as an Executive Editor of the California Law Review and a Senior Articles Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law. Leila also spent much of her time devoted to pro bono work. She led the Workers’ Rights Clinic, which is committed to protecting employment rights for workers and their families by providing free legal services. Additionally, Leila assisted in legislative campaign efforts through the Berkeley Law Policy Advocacy Clinic, where she and other students collaborated with nonprofit organizations in Arkansas to improve the state’s juvenile justice system. During her third year, she externed for the Honorable Judge Edward M. Chen at the US District Court for the Northern District of California and at the Office for the Federal Public Defender in Oakland. Prior to law school, she worked as an Internal Auditor at BlackRock.
