Laura Hulce is responsible for overseeing the training and professional growth of the firm’s attorneys. This includes creating and implementing the firm's overall strategy for professional development, as well as working with Primary Team Chairs and firm management to set goals and objectives for associates to achieve, ensuring their growth and progression at the firm. As part of this, Laura and her team conduct regular training sessions and workshops, provide one-on-one coaching, run formal and informal mentoring programs, and play a key role in evaluating associate performance and providing feedback to help them improve, and facilitate staffing and utilization of associates to ensure they are getting the substantive experience they need to progress. Her mission is to provide excellent client service to the associates, the case and client teams, and the firm, ensuring that the firm's attorneys have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality legal services to the firm’s clients.

Laura returned to Jenner & Block in 2012 as a litigation associate, after being a summer associate in the Chicago office in 2010, following her graduation from Columbia Law School and a clerkship in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She focused her practice on commercial litigation and was promoted to partner in January 2019. She spent much of her non-billable time actively mentoring associates and consulting with the professional development team to improve its offerings and programs, winning the firm’s Mentor Award in 2020. In fall 2022, she took on the role of Director of Professional Development. She currently serves on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, Wellness Committee, and Associate Development & Evaluation Committee.
