Hao Zhu is an associate in Jenner & Block’s Investigations, Compliance, and Defense Practice. Hao represents individuals and corporations in the US and abroad in civil and criminal investigations, including enforcement actions by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and state agencies. He conducts internal investigations, assesses anti-corruption risks in mergers and acquisitions, advises on compliance programs, and counsels clients on complex eDiscovery issues, including DOJ and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) antitrust merger reviews.
Hao integrates Artificial Intelligence into his practice to help transform legal practice. He develops agentic AI applications for analyzing datasets, streamlining document review, and improving legal workflows, with careful consideration of risks such as hallucinations, bias, and over-reliance. Prior to joining the firm, Hao was an associate at another law firm in Washington, DC where he piloted the use of large language models for document classification and key document identification in investigations.
