Garrett Salzman helps clients in highly regulated and closely scrutinized industries understand and comply with the law and navigate complex internal, regulatory, and criminal investigations. Garrett directs and oversees investigative teams that develop a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing clients, and he helps formulate solutions to potential problems while guiding and advising clients through their response. He has deep experience conducting and responding to investigations in the technology, lobbying, and energy fields, especially when these investigations implicate political actors and issues.

Garrett complements his practice by representing clients in trial and appellate litigation, from lower state courts to the United States Supreme Court, as well as political and regulatory matters. Through his pro bono practice, Garrett advises an NGO delivering international humanitarian aid to Afghanistan on applicable sanctions law and a death row prisoner in post-conviction proceedings. He also helps lead a team challenging conditions of confinement on behalf of prisoners incarcerated at a state prison facility. Garrett was a member of a team whose advocacy and motion to suppress evidence related to his client’s arrest for multiple felony weapons charges led to the prosecution dropping all weapons charges against the client.
