Jenner & Block Team Secures Exceedingly Rare Vacatur of International Arbitration Award
A Jenner & Block team led by Partners Wade Thomson, Annie Kastanek, and Ken Beale secured a rare order by the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois vacating an arbitration award against Meleveetil Damodaran, the former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which is akin to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

OFAC Casts Wide Net with Sanctions Against Russia-Linked Indian Targets
On October 30, 2024, the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned 19 Indian private sector entities and two Indian nationals for facilitating the circumvention and evasion of US sanctions against Russia. OFAC announced its conclusion that these individuals and entities (“persons”) were involved in supplying Russia with advanced technology and dual-use equipment needed for its war in Ukraine.
