Recognition
July 25, 2023
Jenner & Block Partner Ian Heath Gershengorn has been recognized for his outstanding career as an appellate advocate on the national stage.
The American Law Institute inducted Ian at its annual meeting earlier this summer, an honor that acknowledges his appellate private practice as well as his prior role as US Acting Solicitor General. The American Law Institute is an independent organization that produces scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and improve the law. As a member, Ian joins the ranks of eminent judges, lawyers, and law professors from the United States and many foreign countries, selected on the basis of professional achievement and demonstrated interest in improving the law.
The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a prestigious, invitation-only association comprising appellate lawyers who have proven track records in courts nationwide, inducted Ian as a Fellow earlier this year. Fellows face stringent membership criteria, undergo rigorous screening, and are approved by the academy’s board.
